Starting your pregnancy follow-up

Contact the practice when you know you are pregnant to arrange your first appointment. Tell the reception team if you have pain, bleeding or a previous pregnancy complication, as this may change how quickly you need to be assessed.

The first consultation reviews your medical history, previous pregnancies, current medicines and questions. The doctor plans the examinations and blood tests appropriate to your situation and explains how your pregnancy will be followed.

A schedule adapted to you

Care includes checking your health, reviewing results and following your baby’s development. Appointment frequency depends on the stage of pregnancy and any risk factors. Ultrasound, screening choices and preparation for delivery are discussed as part of the same care plan.

If you are transferring care from another city or country, bring your maternity records, laboratory results and ultrasound reports. The doctor can review what has already been done before planning the next steps.

Planning your delivery

Discuss your preferred clinic, previous delivery experience and practical arrangements during follow-up. Dr Abbou also provides childbirth care in clinics in Fez. The place and mode of delivery are decided according to your situation; a clinic admission is distinct from an appointment at the practice.

Your questions, answered

Can I start follow-up if I have already had scans elsewhere?

Yes. Bring your previous ultrasound reports and maternity records so the doctor can understand your pregnancy history and plan ongoing care.

Do all pregnancies need the same number of appointments?

No. The schedule is individualized. Your medical history, stage of pregnancy and any concerns may call for closer follow-up.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring any pregnancy test or scan results, previous maternity records, recent blood tests and a list of medicines. Note the first day of your last period if you know it.
